Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg \n Discipline: RN \n Start Date: ASAP \n Duration: 13 weeks \n 36 hours per week \n Shift: 12 hours, nights \n Employment Type: Travel \n \n \n Candidates residing within 50–100 miles of the facility may be subject to a reduced rate or may not be accepted. \n Applicants must have worked in this unit or setting within the past year to be considered for this position. \n \n Job Title\n Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Night Shift) Location\n Nashville, TN | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type\n Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Projected Start: September 14, 2026 Key Responsibilities\n \n Perform comprehensive patient assessments and provide general care for a 36-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:4 to 1:5 patient ratio \n Manage and maintain wounds, tracheostomies, ostomies, drains, chest tubes, and support patients experiencing strokes or seizures \n Operate and monitor PD Cyclers, Alaris IV Pumps, and PCA pumps; administer Heparin drips as indicated \n Support post-operative care for patients following amputations, ostomy procedures, oral surgeries, chest tube placements, and wound vac applications \n Conduct bedside shift reports, perform safety checks every 1–2 hours, and maintain 100% medication scanning including controlled substances \n Adhere to HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring, fall prevention measures, and standard precautions \n Required Qualifications\n \n Active Registered Nurse (RN) license \n BLS certification required \n NIHSS certification required \n Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience \n Proficiency with Meditech documentation system \n Ability to fulfill scheduling requirements including 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block and float over core staff as needed \n Preferred Experience / Skills\n \n Experience caring for dialysis patients and managing PCA pumps in an acute care setting \n Familiarity with Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lifts, Broda Chairs, and PD Cyclers \n Background in post-operative patient care including wound vac management \n Why Join Us\n \n Join a collaborative, high-energy team where travel nurses are treated as core staff and held to the same standard of accountability and recognition \n Benefit from supportive charge nurses and experienced leadership committed to a smooth onboarding experience \n \n \n \n Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 775352.
