Every day we work toward transforming global markets.The Systems Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining availability and high-performance in mixed Linux and Windows development, non-production, and production environments. This individual works as part of a results-oriented, service-delivery team and assists configuration analysts, release engineers, developers, and operations teams. Additionally, the Systems Engineer performs root cause analysis of problems, selects and implements automation tools, and actively participates in deeply technical discourse.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the design, planning and implementation of server solutionsTune and design systems infrastructure for maximum available performance and reliabilityAutomate manual tasks using scripting and application developmentInvestigate and adopt new technologies/tools as needs ariseRespond to and assist in production operations in a 24/7 environmentEvaluate, test, and integrate new operating system versions, drivers, and patchesProvide technical analysis, resolve problems, and propose solutionsProvide support to, and coordinate with, developers, operations staff, release engineers, and end-usersAutomate common tasks in continuing effort to improve efficiency and consistencyParticipate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours supportKnowledge and Experience3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems (RedHat variants preferred)2+ years of experience with Windows Server operating systems2+ years of experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Tanzu, etc)Experience with deploying and supporting both physical and virtual infrastructureSolid experience coding with any combination of Python, Ruby and/or GoLang scripting and automationExperience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or equivalentFamiliarity with source control tools, such as git, Bitbucket, SVN or othersDemonstrable knowledge of multi-tiered, highly available, and resilient application designKnowledge of horizontal and vertical scaling for performance and high availabilityTop-tier analytics and problem solvingAbility to work in a service-oriented team environmentProject Management, organization, and time managementCustomer-focused, and dedicated to the best possible user experienceCommunicate effectively with both technical and business resourcesFluent speaking, reading, and writing in EnglishDesiredBachelors Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent experience in Systems EngineeringFamiliar with deployment automation and orchestration (Jenkins preferred)Experience packaging windows software with Chocolatey#LI-SH3#LI-ONSITE Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
