Per Diem Residential Counselor — Flexible Shifts + Bonus

Options for Community Living, Inc. is looking for Per Diem Residential Counselors. The position requires Requirements: Passion for assisting individuals with mental illness, self‑starter, well organized High school graduate or equivalent Residential program experience preferred Available to provide coverage within identified availability, respond to staff requests within 48 h, and report to shifts once commitment is made At least one shift per month Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, valid auto insurance and vehicle access required Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $20.00–$24.00 /hr (may be modified based on experience, education, etc.) Overnight & weekend differential pay may apply Sign‑on bonus: $500 Sick PTO 403(b) retirement plan with employer match Employee Assistance Program Wellness initiatives Paid training & on‑the‑job training Promotional opportunities Mileage reimbursement Schedule Shifts available Monday–Friday between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM as needed. Locations Port Jefferson Station Medford Oakdale East Islip Huntington Station Ronkonkoma Pay type Non‑exempt Responsibilities Participate in planning and evaluation of individual service plans and monitor objectives. Train and assist residents in activities of daily living. Document services provided with appropriate notes. Manage medication and document accordingly. Provide case management and follow‑up services. Provide counseling, behavioral intervention and crisis management services while following emergency procedures. Assist in day‑to‑day management and household maintenance of the community residence professionally. Provide transportation to residents as needed. Manage the residence in the absence of a full‑time Residential Counselor. Notify Program Supervisor/Program Manager of any medical or psychiatric emergency. Complete overnight checklists and after‑hours log during overnight shifts. Read and enter notes in Foothold Communication Log each shift. Complete and maintain all training requirements promptly.
