The RN collaborates with the care team to achieve quality outcomes, demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and adaptability, and ensures compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and Texas Board of Nursing rules. Responsibilities Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, and scientific judgment to deliver safe, independent nursing care to patients. Collaborate with the patient care team to achieve quality patient outcomes. Communicate with confidence and demonstrate professionalism within unit and organizational activities. Show teamwork, adaptability, and serve as a resource to the care team. Account for providing quality nursing care and promoting a positive image of nursing. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of employment start date. Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma. Minimum 6 months RN experience. Active TX RN License (compact license must be endorsed within 60 days). Unit Overview 8‑bed, fast‑paced CDU Observations Unit. Staffing grid: 2 RNs and a PCT, 4–5:1 RN to patient ratio. Comprehensive educational offerings, including physician presentations. Proficiency training for specialty equipment. Experienced charge nurses and unit leadership.
