QA Lead

Location: Remote – CST or EST

Duration: 6-month contract with potential for extension

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced QA Lead to provide hands-on leadership and direction across a team of approximately seven QA professionals supporting Salesforce and other enterprise technology initiatives.

This individual will serve as a key partner to QA leadership, helping establish priorities, provide guidance to QA resources, improve accountability, and ensure quality initiatives move forward successfully.

This is not strictly a people-management position. We are looking for a hands-on QA leader who leads by example, understands the systems being tested, and is comfortable stepping into projects when additional direction or support is needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to QA team members.
• Help establish QA priorities across multiple projects and initiatives.
• Ensure testing activities and deliverables are progressing according to expectations.
• Provide hands-on support when projects or QA resources require additional direction.
• Review testing work and follow through to ensure commitments are completed.
• Identify gaps in testing processes and recommend improvements.
• Serve as a key point of coordination between QA leadership, project teams, and other technology stakeholders.
• Support Salesforce testing initiatives as well as other enterprise applications and projects.
• Guide manual testing practices while supporting the organization's continued progression toward test automation.
• Help develop test strategies, plans, and test cases that can ultimately support automation.
• Lead by example and promote strong ownership and accountability across the QA function.
• Provide support for audit and compliance activities as needed, including potential SOC audit responses.

Required Qualifications

• Significant QA/testing experience with demonstrated QA leadership responsibilities.
• Experience leading or providing direction to QA analysts/testers.
• Strong understanding of manual, functional, regression, and system testing.
• Salesforce experience.
• Ability to develop and review test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
• Experience working in environments that utilize or are transitioning toward test automation.
• Strong ability to prioritize work and coordinate QA activities across multiple initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to hold teams accountable and drive work through completion.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead by example.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong Salesforce QA experience.
• Experience supporting large Salesforce implementations.
• SOC audit or other technology audit experience.
• Experience preparing or supporting audit responses.
• Experience working within regulated environments.
• Experience leading QA teams through improvements to testing processes or automation maturity.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced QA professional who combines leadership with hands-on testing knowledge. They should be comfortable taking ownership, setting direction, following up on deliverables, and stepping in when a team or project needs additional support. This person should be able to quickly understand the current QA environment, establish credibility with the team, and become a trusted partner to QA leadership.

The projected hourly range for this position is $65 to $75.
