Electrical Project Engineer - MEP/Building Systems (West Palm Beach)

JLRD, Inc. is a Florida-based MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and fire protection consulting engineering firm founded in 1991. Headquartered in West Palm Beach with offices in Merritt Island, Jacksonville, and Tampa, JLRD delivers all four engineering disciplines in-house across healthcare, education, government, federal, aviation, utilities and infrastructure, commercial and mixed-use, hospitality, residential, and mission-critical facilities.

We are privately owned and engineering-led. We compete on technical depth, not scale, and we build teams accordingly.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Electrical Project Engineer is a hands-on engineering leader within JLRD's Electrical discipline. This role owns the electrical design effort on assigned projects from schematic design through construction administration, coordinates across disciplines, communicates directly with clients and project stakeholders, and applies independent engineering judgment to deliver technically sound, high-quality projects.

This is a hands-on engineering and project ownership role , not a production-only design role. We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer who understands complex building electrical systems, can independently make engineering and system-selection decisions, and has the project judgment to manage scope, schedule, budget, and multidisciplinary coordination. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer or has passed the PE exam with licensure pending and is ready to take meaningful ownership of projects while continuing to grow toward greater senior engineering leadership.

This position reports to the Electrical Department Lead.

Position is based in West Palm Beach, or Merritt Island, Florida. On-site.
