Sanding & Masking Technician – Aerospace

We are seeking a detail-oriented Composite Technician to join a growing aerospace team at a FAA Repair Station. This is a 1st shift opportunity in a clean, climate-controlled facility. The ideal candidate will have experience with sanding, masking, and preparing composite components for repair and finishing while maintaining strict aerospace quality standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Sand and prepare composite aerospace components for repair, coating, and finishing processes
• Apply masking materials to protect critical surfaces and ensure precise paint/coating lines
• Perform surface preparation using hand tools and power sanding equipment
• Inspect parts for defects, imperfections, and compliance with work instructions
• Follow FAA regulations, repair station procedures, and quality standards
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete required production records
• Handle delicate aerospace components with care to prevent damage
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in composites, aerospace manufacturing, automotive body work, paint preparation, or a related field
• Experience with sanding, masking, surface preparation, or finishing techniques
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to use hand tools and basic measuring equipment
