Connectivity Service Operations - Sr. Network Engineer

Job Title Connectivity Service Operations – Sr. Network Engineer, Whippany, NJ. Hybrid role – may telecommute per company policies. Responsibilities Manage Network Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, Metro Area Network infrastructure, load balancer, web proxies, and DNS appliances for the Barclays estate. Handle Incident, Problem and Change Management for critical and major incidents; react quickly to live system errors and service problems to minimize downtime and restore service. Lead technical communication and root‑cause identification, implement permanent fixes when required. Plan and implement minimal to significant changes in line with business requirements and change‑management processes and governance. Collaborate with regional and global counterparts, Product Engineering, Product Managers and Service Managers to influence new solutions and onboard new services. Maintain the integrity and stability of the production data network. Maintain accurate network infrastructure support documentation. Complete tasks, focusing on requirements and planning to meet stakeholder needs. Keep knowledge of the bank’s infrastructure products and services up to date. Accountabilities Provide technical support for the service‑management function to resolve complex issues for specific clients. Execute preventative maintenance tasks on hardware and software and use monitoring tools/metrics to identify, prevent and address potential issues. Maintain a knowledge base with detailed documentation of resolved cases for future reference, self‑service opportunities and knowledge sharing. Analyze system logs, error messages and user reports to identify root causes of hardware, software, and network issues, and provide resolution by fixing or replacing faulty components, reinstalling software, or applying configuration changes. Implement automation, monitoring enhancements, capacity management, resiliency, business continuity management, front‑office support and stakeholder management. Identify and remediate or raise potential service‑impacting risks and issues through the appropriate process. Proactively assess support activities, implement automations where appropriate, and tune monitoring tools, thresholds and alerting to ensure issues are known when they occur. Collaborate with other areas to align support, keep up to speed with business activity and strategy. Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources (internal and external) to solve problems creatively and effectively. Communicate complex information, including sensitive or difficult-to‑communicate content. Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes. Salary & Benefits Minimum Salary: $158,875 per year. Maximum Salary: $160,000 per year. Base salary range only; does not include other compensation or benefits.
