Automation Technician

Location: Fairfield, OH

Job Overview:
A manufacturing facility is seeking a skilled and reliable Automation Technician to support automated production equipment and general plant operations. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, electrical, and control systems. This position plays an important role in ensuring equipment uptime, supporting production efficiency, and assisting with ongoing improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot automated equipment, including sensors, VFDs, pneumatic systems, and basic robotics components.
• Support PLC-controlled systems by identifying faults, performing adjustments, and assisting with control-related issues.
• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance to maintain equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new automated machinery or system upgrades.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, documentation, and work order records.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure smooth daily operations and support continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an automation technician or industrial maintenance technician.
• Working knowledge of PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley preferred) and familiarity with control system components.
• Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
