Summary United Integrated Services (USA) is looking for an Associate Design Engineer AAS to join our team! United Integrated Services (USA) is looking for an Associate Design Engineer Air Abatement System to be responsible for developing and implementing mechanical systems. This role involves creating detailed schematics, equipment schedule, equipment layout, duct and pipe layout, etc. ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support project execution. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in duct and pipe design software, Space ventilation volume, Duct air volume calculation. Will be responsible for implementing, and maintaining air filtration systems in a cleanroom environment, ensuring compliance with semiconductor production regulations and standards. Experience in HVAC is highly desired. ** This is a full-time onsite position located in North Phoenix, AZ ** Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. Perform requirements classification of clients, communicate project requirements and design review with internal & external design team for Air Abatement System (AAS), such as, process exhaust duct, scrubber for waste air treatment, and dosing chemical. Perform the required scope of work and clarify specification with stakeholders. Assist procurement team on the procurement of AAS systems equipment & materials and assist in contractors' awards. Understand isometrics, P&ID and CAD drawings specifically for AAS systems. Review, approve and oversee the installation of AAS systems. Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms with specifications and assure adherence to construction schedules. Review progress reports, materials used and costs, contract payment application, and adjust work schedules as indicated by the reports. Review & reply RFI (Request for information) and change orders. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal use and client communication. Identify and solve problems. Scheduling and schedule execution. Understand drawing and review specifications and estimation. Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education / Experience Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 0-1+ years of work experience related to Mechanical HVAC. Direct AAS systems planning and/or construction experience. Skills and Competencies Strong understanding of process exhaust duct sizing & layout, mechanism of scrubber for waste air treatment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Ability to use engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Primavera, or others. Excellent organizational and time management skills. High level of attention to detail, and highly organized. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities depending on project needs. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees. Ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with all levels of employees, clients, and subcontractors. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude. Ability to work in a construction site environment (trailer office). Proficiency Effective English verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to communicate in Mandarin/Taiwanese is a plus. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and employees. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Nice to have Start-up experience. Verbal communication skills in Mandarin. Professional Engineer license. Additional Requirements Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license. May be required to travel to other sites within Arizona to perform certain work functions. Indoor and/or outdoor work environments, which may include varying temperatures and weather conditions. Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, or active job sites, depending on project requirements. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and high-visibility vests.
