Field Director - MASC Massachusetts Association of School Committees

Position Overview Title: Field Director Salary: $90,000 – $115,000 depending on experience Application Deadline: August 14, 2026 Position Description The Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC) seeks a dynamic individual to serve as a Field Director for the CT Valley and Berkshire County region. As one of four field directors representing regions within Massachusetts, the successful candidate will work directly with school committees and superintendents to: Provide training to members and to respond to request for assistance. Coordinate efforts to aggregate district policy and to participate in gathering, revising, and implementing policy for school districts. Lead searches to fill vacant positions for superintendents. Represent MASC in responding to district requests. Collaborate with other staff colleagues in organizing orientations, customized training, workshops, and an annual state convention. The successful candidate will have: Knowledge and experience working with or on school committees. Experience with and appreciation of the value of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion when working with school districts. Have knowledge of Western Massachusetts in order to serve Berkshire, Hamden, Hampshire, and Franklin County School Committees. Understanding of the key issues facing public education. Experience teaching or training adults including participating in orientations, retreats, and professional development programs. Experience with office technologies including Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) A strong record of collegiality and collaboration. Excellent communication skills. Willingness to learn in acquiring skills necessary to be successful. The candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to work in the evening when school boards meet and to manage their schedule to align with member needs and requirements.
