JGH Registration Clerk Part Time

Key Responsibilities Day-to-day scheduling and monitoring of workflow in patient registration. Processing payments and billing accounts. Oversight of patient record releases. Act as a resource to staff for operational issues and to any other customer who needs assistance. Perform proficient use of data entry and abstract data accurately. Review work for accuracy. Collaborate with other staff to ensure medical record and scheduling are accurate. Collect and post payments accurately and balance at the end of the shift. Release medical records and protected health information per protocols and adhere to HIPAA. Communicate with patients and clinic staff to ensure proper paperwork is available for office visits. Monitor use of hospital resources and assist with ensuring supplies are available. Ensure excellence of service in all clinics assigned to work. Use software programs needed to complete registration and process requests for medical records. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Insurance experience. Medical Office Certification (preferred). Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Working Environment Normal office setting. Skills and Abilities 40 words a minute typing verified by testing. Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills. Team‑building skills. Highly developed social and communication skills. Excellent judgment and ability to stay calm and level‑headed in difficult situations. Ability to multi‑task.
