Job Overview Primary City/State: Glendale, Arizona Department: ICU ST2E-Hosp Shift: Night (Full‑Time) Job Category: Nursing Banner Health’s Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit at Thunderbird Medical Center provides specialized, advanced care for patients with complex neurological conditions. Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care in accordance with professional nursing standards and organizational policies. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, social, cultural, spiritual, and educational needs. Develop individualized plans of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and multidisciplinary input. Provide direct patient care, coordinate, delegate, and supervise health‑care team activities as required. Monitor patient progress toward goals, adjust care plans, and provide effective teaching to patients and families. Maintain documentation that is legible, timely, and compliant with policy and regulatory requirements. Deliver evidence‑based nursing care, participate in research, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Mentor and precept colleagues, promote leadership within the unit, and support professional development. Engage with patients, families, staff, and external partners to coordinate comprehensive, patient‑centered care. Minimum Qualifications Valid RN license (state, temporary/interim, or compact) in the state of practice. BLS certification. Minimum 12 months experience as an RN in an ICU (for sign‑on incentive) or in acute‑care nursing. Demonstrated competency in acute‑care settings within the past 12 months. Ability to maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validation. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field. Professional certification in critical‑care or related specialties. Additional education or experience relevant to ICU practice.
