Your Specific Responsibilities:

Maintains cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of buildings and facilities. Provides general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, washing sanitizing, cleaning of spills, and monitoring areas and supplies. Empties trash and recycle bins, cleans mirrors, windows, glass, blinds, baseboards, walls to ensure overall clean and positive appearance.

Daily Activities in Common Areas: Empty all trash receptacles (inside/outside) and place trash in dumpster. Replace liners in receptacles at least once per week or more often if necessary. Damp mop floors. Vacuum all floors as appropriate to the surface in all areas. All wet floors should be dry mopped before leaving the area. Mops and water must be cleaned and changed frequently. Clean and polish drinking fountains and dispensers. Wipe and dust all horizonal surfaces. Do not remove material on desks and tables to allow for this cleaning. Wipe fingerprints from all metal and glass surfaces. Clean all entrance door glass inside and out. Vacuum all entrance mats thoroughly. Straighten blinds or drapes.

Sweep and clean complete area outside of buildings including sidewalks, entrances, steps, stairs, doorsills, handicap rails, etc. (Includes removal and cleanup of all types of debris. Daily Activities - Restrooms: Stock towels, tissue paper and hand soap. Empty sanitary napkin receptacles, wipe with disinfectant, and replace wax bag. Clean and polish mirrors. Clean paper towel cabinet covers, soap dispensers, and all horizontal surfaces including countertops. Clean and sanitize toilets and urinals inside and out. Polish blight work. Clean toilet seats on both sides using disinfectant. Scour and sanitize all basins. Polish blight work. Clean partitions, tops of mirrors, and frames. Remove splash marks form all walls. Mop and rinse restroom floors with disinfectant Daily Activities- Breakrooms Stock Towels and hand soap Empty garbage receptacles, wipe with disinfectant and replace garbage bag. Clean paper towel, cabinet covers, soap dispensers, and all horizontal surfaces including counter tops. Mop and rinse floor with disinfectant. Mops and water mut be cleaned and changed after each specific area is cleaned. At end of day place new mop head on mop. Ensure that wet floor signage is displayed when mopping took place. Wipe top of fridge Wipe stove top. Wipe tables and benches.

Weekly Activities: Dust all exposed horizontal surfaces, including desktops, files, windowsills, blinds, chairs, tables, pictures, and all manner of furnishings. Do not remove material to allow for dusting. Dust moldings, ledges, bookshelves, AC louvers and AC grills. Clean partitions, walls, doors, and other horizontal surfaces. Baseboards should be cleaned and be free of accumulations of old wax and mopping solutions. Remove fingerprints and marks from around light switches, doorframes, and metal surfaces .

Monthly Activities: Damp wipe full surface area of stall partitions, doors, window frames and sills with a solution of water and disinfectant in restrooms. Damp wipe and polish all tile wall surfaces. Clean all ceiling fans with duster and damp cloth. Remove dust from AC vents/ intake louvre and AC grills. Remove spider webs. Clean exterior and interior windows and sills and interior and exterior doors.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to effectively convey information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person; Ability to listen to others and ask appropriate questions; Ability to plan and organize work activities by priority: Skilled in attention to detail, time management and inventory tracking. Ability/Knowledge to use computers and software applications including Internet explorer, Outlook; Ability to stand, bend, lift to 35 lbs., step up and down from a step stool, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods; Ability to problem solve to resolve cleaning challenges independently; Knowledge of how to clean different surfaces and use of proper materials, knowledge of chemical safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications:

Minimum - 1 year janitorial/custodial experience; ability to stand, bend, lift and perform repetitive cleaning tasks, basic computer applications

Preferred - 5+ years of janitorial/custodial experience with excellent references
