Product Design Engineer

Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually We have an immediate opening for a Product Design Engineer in our Bellingham, WA facility. Job Responsibilities: Design and implement new products, product variations, and product enhancements utilizing CAD, statistical analysis, performance test results, and user review feedback. Connect design decisions to consumer needs through Product Management collaboration and customer knowledge. Understand the consumer experience beyond documented needs by using and testing products. Clearly communicate project action items, risks, and progress to management and team. Design and coordinate construction and use of capable testing fixtures that verify a design’s ability to meet functional objectives. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with factories, Quality Control, and Product Management to ensure the product meets cost, quality, and schedule targets. Effectively and thoroughly create and update project documentation such as drawings, design journals, and test reports. Understand and address non-conforming material as it relates to the impact to the consumer. Identify and work with 3 rd parties, as needed, to complete projects, such as prototype builds or testing. Identify problems and utilize methodical problem-solving methods to present solutions that address root cause. Proactively conceptualize and recommend new ideas that support the company’s mission and vision. Apply and recommend modeling or drafting and document control best practices. Job Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required Two or more years of mechanical design experience preferred Proficiency in modeling and drafting required Understand numerous engineering tools, statistical tolerance, stack-up, etc. Demonstrated ability to utilize advanced statistics in problem solving.
