Mammography Technologist
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 9 Weeks
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Shift: Day Shift | 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Employment Type: Contract
We are seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures in an onsite healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical competency in mammography positioning, compression, image evaluation, and quality standards while maintaining patient safety and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.
- Demonstrate competency in mammography positioning, compression, and technique factors .
- Properly label all radiographic images according to departmental SOPs.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and acceptability and repeat images when necessary.
- Ensure mammography images are transmitted to PACS accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complete and document studies accurately within IDX .
- Accurately enter and maintain required patient tracking information in the appropriate tracking system.
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain efficient workflow while prioritizing patient safety and quality of care.
- Maintain compliance with applicable MQSA requirements and standards .
- Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate clinical and technical documentation.
- New York State License in Diagnostic Radiography – Required
- Current ARRT registration – Required
- Current compliance with all applicable MQSA qualifications and requirements – Required
- Previous mammography experience – Required
- Demonstrated competency in mammography positioning, compression, and technique.
- Strong understanding of image quality and technical standards.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
