Qualifications:

Education: Associate's Degree Applied Science Required Or Other completion of accredited program in cardiovascular technology. Must obtain RCIS within 6 months of hire Required Or H.S. Diploma or Equivalent. 2 Years work experience in invasive cardiology Required Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Required

Experience: 1 Year vascular or cardiac angiography Preferred or 2 Years required with high school diploma Required Cath Lab experience strongly preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire Required And GMRT - General Medical Radiologic Technologist If ARRT Only Upon Hire Preferred Or RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Obtain within 6 months if graduate from Cardiovascular Accredited Program Upon Hire Required And LMRT - Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist If RCIS Only Upon Hire Preferred Or RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist For Electrophysiology Labs (EP) Only Upon Hire Required And BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Required And CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

Here's What You'll Do:

Patient Care:

Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)

Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures

Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing:

Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factors

Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction

Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards
