CNC Machinist Lead

CNC Machinist Lead Operations & Workflow Oversee daily shop operations and maintain smooth workflow Set department goals aligned with company objectives Schedule and manage jobs, labor hours, and machine shop activities Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to keep work moving Ensure all jobs are fully prepared before production (tools, materials, programs, and setup instructions ready) Technical & Process Support Create, review, and update CNC programs Assist with development of new parts, processes, and procedures Support CAD model creation and verify models and programs Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions Drive continuous improvement, lean practices, and cost reduction initiatives Compliance & Quality Ensure all work meets company standards, policies, and procedures Verify all required paperwork is completed accurately Monitor quality of work and provide direction as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and support team members Participate in hiring and onboarding processes Manage employee performance and approve work hours Identify and track training needs Coach employees on tools, equipment, and job requirements Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment Additional Duties Travel as needed to meet company or customer requirements Core Competencies Safety & Work Environment: Promotes a safe workplace and addresses hazards proactively Communication: Communicates clearly, professionally, and respectfully Teamwork: Builds collaboration and encourages a positive team culture Accountability: Delivers high-quality results on time and solves problems effectively Change Management: Leads and supports organizational changes Talent Development: Coaches and develops employees for growth Planning & Organization: Effectively plans and uses resources to achieve goals Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of experience in CNC programming, setup, and operation (mills and lathes) Leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license Strong verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree in Manufacturing or related field Experience with Mastercam, SolidWorks, or other CAD/CAM software Company Overview System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
