As a Finance Director in a response, you will provide overall leadership, oversight, and management support for all aspects of financial management in the Office. This position is part of the Senior Leadership Team of the Response with a focus on ensuring accountability, compliance, and stewardship, coordinating financial planning and developing financial strategy that serves response objectives. You will lead finance staff, strengthen partner capacity, implement internal controls, and safeguard assets following World Vision policies. Key Responsibilities Provide strong and positive leadership to the finance department, ensuring competent and motivated staff. Coordinate professional and personal development of finance staff through orientation, coaching, and training needs. Model Christ-centred servant leadership and support spiritual development of team. Participate actively in Senior Leadership Team meetings and strategic regional meetings. Facilitate understanding of financial statements for the Response Director, Operations and other staff. Ensure partnership finance policies are understood by Senior Management, Operations, Technical staff, Communities, and Local Partners. Develop strong internal and external networks through effective communication and relationships. Act as support services lead when required and promote shared resource networks. Adhere to WVI key policy documents – mission, core values, and covenant of partnership. Ensure cost efficiency and effectiveness measures are in place. Provide cost analysis, benchmark recommendations, and develop procurement policies. Advise on strategic resource acquisition and allocation in line with Regional Leader approvals. Lead planning and budgeting, provide technical support, and review budget alignment. Maintain response budget, cash flow, and project funding; provide timely information and advice. Contribute to response strategic direction and priorities. Ensure financial systems, controls, and reporting align with the World Vision Field Financial Manual. Coordinate timely, accurate, and complete reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Apply efficient internal control systems and adhere to partnership policies. Provide regular financial analysis to the Senior Leadership Team to support decision-making. Manage financial risk, anti-corruption and fraud strategies, and coordinate audit responses. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or a related field. Required Professional Experience Minimum 7 years in a senior finance position with a medium business/NGO/government agency. Minimum 5 years in a finance management position. Preferred Experience, Knowledge and Other Qualifications MBA in Finance or MSC in Finance/Accounting/Auditing. ACCA, CIMA or CPA preferred. Treasury activities, budget monitoring, and data processing systems experience. Humanitarian aid in‑country experience. Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, budget/cash‑flow monitoring and internal controls. Problem‑solving and independent judgment. Leadership and team management. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of government grant regulations and financial reporting requirements. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Cross‑cultural teamwork. Required Travel and/or Work Environment Accommodations Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. Work hours often exceed 12 hours per day during difficult periods.
