Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversight within post-acute and long-term care settings. This position supports patient care across Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACs), ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and maintaining the highest standards of quality care.

Position Details

• Job Type: Full-Time
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and on-call responsibilities as needed for clinical oversight
• Location: Oklahoma (multiple facility assignments possible)
• Salary Range: $240,000 to $280,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Job Summary

The Medical Director will oversee and guide the clinical operations of partner facilities, ensuring that patient care is safe, effective, and consistent with best practices. This role requires a strong leader who can balance administrative oversight with active clinical engagement, mentoring care teams, and maintaining compliance with all state and federal healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight

• Provide medical direction and leadership across assigned facilities, ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Oversee diagnosis, treatment, and care coordination for patients with complex medical needs.
• Collaborate with attending physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to optimize patient outcomes.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided to ensure adherence to clinical and ethical standards.

Regulatory Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
• Maintain awareness of and adherence to CMS, Joint Commission, and state regulatory standards.
• Notify appropriate parties of any exclusion or debarment from Medicare, Medicaid, or other government healthcare programs.
• Participate in facility compliance training and maintain all required certifications.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Provide mentorship and direction to clinical staff, including advanced practice providers.
• Support interdisciplinary care planning meetings and facilitate communication among care teams.
• Work closely with facility administrators to ensure operational efficiency and quality performance.
• Lead quality assurance initiatives to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Participate in peer reviews, audits, and performance improvement activities.
• Generate reports and data analyses as needed to support facility operations and compliance.

Continuous Education & Development

• Stay informed of emerging medical practices, clinical guidelines, and healthcare regulations.
• Participate in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development activities.
• Promote a culture of lifelong learning within the care team.

Qualifications
Education & Licensing

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Oklahoma.
• Active DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or related specialty preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in post-acute, long-term, or hospital-based care.
• Prior experience in a Medical Director or Physician Leadership role strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing interdisciplinary clinical teams.
