Closing Manager

Closing Manager – 2601953 D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., founded in 1978, is a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. It builds high‑quality homes for entry‑level and first‑time move‑up markets and also provides mortgage financing and title services through its subsidiaries. We are looking for a Closing Manager for the Closing Department. The right candidate will interface with buyers, lenders, escrow agents, sales and all in‑house departments to ensure timely closing. The role reviews and approves sales contract packages, monitors loan progress, and audits escrow closings. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage and supervise Closing Coordinators: interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Organize weekly team meetings between Construction, Sales, and Mortgage departments. Supervise ordering, receiving, and sending documents for closings (soil letters, surveys, keys, etc.). Supervise preparation and distribution of plans and specs for FHA closings; review all contracts for clarity; maintain a list of contracts and projected closing dates; track and report earnest money; reconcile the Earnest Money Exception Report. Schedule closing dates with buyers and notify all parties by phone and/or in writing. Prepare documents for closings; notarize deeds and lien waivers. Review and approve HUDs before closing. Track and report status of all loans closing within the current month. Track and report potential terminations, enter terminations upon request, and prepare refund check requests if earnest money is to be refunded. Conduct all business professionally and ethically to serve customers and increase goodwill and profit. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly manages two or more employees in the Closing Department, carrying out supervisory duties in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Qualifications Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university. Three to five years of related experience and/or training. Proficiency with MS Office and email. Preferred Qualifications Notary Public certificate helpful but not required. Tolerance of high‑stress situations. Ability to multi‑task and attention to detail.
