Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees the daily function and operation of the warehouse during an assigned shift, including direct supervision of all shift personnel. This role manages workflow across overlapping shifts, coordinates closely with Team Leaders and the Warehouse Manager, and steps in to perform Pick/Packer, Junior Loader, and Senior Loader duties when needed. The Warehouse Supervisor ensures that all warehouse staff meet performance metrics, that every order is picked and loaded with complete accuracy, and that all activities align with established safety standards, values, and operating guidelines. The role also involves safe forklift operation, maintaining a secure and orderly facility, and providing hands-on leadership to the warehouse team.

• Manage employees and the overall workflow for the assigned warehouse shift, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Distribute and prioritize pick tickets, monitor progress, and ensure all orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Perform scheduled daily walk-throughs of the warehouse and send status emails based on observations and findings.
• Operate a propane-powered forklift safely inside and outside the warehouse, minimizing damage and risk.
• Assign staff to specific tasks according to operational needs and provide assistance and guidance throughout their shifts.
• Ensure the accuracy of all picked and loaded customer orders, verifying that loads meet 100% accuracy standards.
• Coordinate and communicate with the Warehouse Manager regarding issues, concerns, or discrepancies that arise during the shift.
• Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and warehouse processes and reinforce adherence among staff.
• Prepare and send daily emails and reports to the appropriate parties in a timely and professional manner.
• Confirm adequate warehouse staffing and coverage for the next day before the current shift ends.
• Provide assistance to walk-in customers as needed, delivering courteous and efficient service.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and premises during the shift, including monitoring access and activities.
• Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly work area, promoting and enforcing warehouse safety standards.
• Participate in the hiring process for new warehouse employees, including assessing candidates and determining staffing needs.
• Use identified errors and performance issues to retrain and refocus staff, continuously improving warehouse performance.
• Participate in the termination of employees when necessary based on work performance and established guidelines.
• Train, coach, and mentor all new warehouse personnel to ensure they understand procedures, safety standards, and performance expectations.
• Perform duties of Pick/Packer, Junior Loader, and Senior Loader when required and approved by the Warehouse Manager.

• At least 3+ years of warehouse experience with exposure to core warehouse operations and processes.
• Minimum 3+ years of supervisory experience, including direct oversight of teams and shift operations.
• At least 3+ years of experience managing 5 or more people in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Prior experience as a Senior Loader for 23 years or equivalent Senior-level loading experience in a warehouse.
• Proven forklift experience, including safe operation of propane-powered forklifts indoors and outdoors.
• Hands-on experience with warehouse management, inventory control, and general warehouse operations.
• Ability to follow and enforce standard operating procedures and established processes.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills to effectively lead, coach, and collaborate with staff.
• Ability to take direction well and provide clear, constructive direction to others.
• Demonstrated reliability, organization, and responsiveness in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety standards.

• Experience supervising warehouse teams across multiple shifts and coordinating with other leaders.
• Background in warehouse safety practices, including maintaining a secure and orderly facility.
• Experience participating in hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of warehouse personnel.
• Ability to analyze errors or discrepancies and use them as opportunities to improve processes and staff performance.
• Positive, interested, and motivated approach to work, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and ensure coverage.
• Comfort interacting with customers in a warehouse setting and providing walk-in assistance when needed.
• Ability to produce clear, concise daily emails and reports that communicate status, issues, and needs.
• Experience working in environments that require flexibility to assist in different areas of the facility when workload shifts.

This role is based in a warehouse setting that includes both indoor and outdoor work areas and operates year-round. Conditions vary with the seasons, with cold temperatures in winter and hot temperatures in summer, so employees should be comfortable working in changing weather. The warehouse uses propane-powered forklifts and standard material-handling equipment, and staff work alongside approximately 75 colleagues across the company. The environment emphasizes safety, orderliness, and teamwork, with an expectation that employees help where needed throughout the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Yonkers, NY.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
