This role is in Textron System's Sea Systems business area.

In a Test Technician role, you will be responsible for providing electrical support for the design, integration, and maintenance of electrical systems on a variety of technologies, ranging from land robotics to uncrewed surface vessels for military programs in a fast-paced environment. These systems are experimental and cutting-edge technological advancements that are intended to protect the warfighter in various theaters. The position involves supporting lab operations of component integration, modifications, assembly and test, of ground vehicles, air vehicles, and surface vessels. Individuals must be willing to support remote test sites to include serving as a boat operator, safety lookout, as well as maintenance crew member during field testing. Individuals must be able to work from assembly documentation (i.e. work instructions, drawings etc.), parts lists, and diagrams to assemble, wire and install a wide variety of components. May assemble by hand or operate semiautomatic assembly equipment. Operates electronic and mechanical test equipment.

Responsibilities include maintaining and operating unmanned systems and support equipment, troubleshooting electronic and general electrical systems, assisting engineers and designers with prototype development and testing, supporting offsite testing and demonstrations, actively performing lab maintenance, safety audits, and material tracking, using small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers and pliers, identifying and documenting work order instruction or drawing errors, maintaining logbooks and records, building and testing cable assemblies, operating USV's and manned vessels, operating overhead cranes and forklift, working extended/flexible hours to meet program goals, maintaining equipment, and general housekeeping.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, ability to interpret drawings and schematics, ability to confidently use a Fluke DVM, boater safety course a plus, boating experience preferred, willingness to travel up to 50% with international travel possible, basic computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, database & technical drawing packages, ability to organize and set up tests with minimal guidance, effective written and oral communication skills, ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance, must be a team player and able to work with minimum supervision, general electrical aptitude and the ability to be certified in IPC standards, ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, ability to multitask and prioritize tasking, ability to work in extreme weather conditions, ability to work on naval vessel, ability to work in tight quarters and confined spaces, and working knowledge of military specifications is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $23.27 - $34.20 per hour.
