What You'll Do

• Provide patient care on a new Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with diverse cases including sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, pneumonia, and post-op surgeries (total joints, GI/abdominal surgeries).
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, including wound care, JP drains, wound vacs, and hemodialysis catheters.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including house staff, RTs, PTs, OTs, and hospitalists.
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR.
• Support unit operations, including coverage on different Med/Surg areas, floating as needed.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and provide excellent patient service.
• Complete required competencies, including EKG testing prior to start.
• Prepare for and work scheduled weekends and holidays, with opportunities for time off requests.

What You Need

• Active Louisiana RN license
• 2+ years' experience in acute care settings
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam

• Experience with wound management, PICC line care, and complex patient conditions
• Flexibility to float across units as needed
