HR Assistant II

Role Overview The ideal Temporary Leave Assistant is highly organized, customer-service oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable managing a high volume of leave cases. They can quickly learn leave policies and procedures, communicate effectively with employees and managers, and maintain strict confidentiality while processing requests. Minimum Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of administrative, human resources, customer service, or leave management experience. Confidentiality: Experience handling confidential and sensitive employee information. Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams. Communication: written and verbal communication skills. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Organizational Skills: organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Independence: Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment. Customer Service: Demonstrated customer service skills and professionalism when working with employees, managers, and external vendors. Preferred Qualifications Support Experience: Experience supporting leave administration, disability management, workers' compensation, or human resources functions. Knowledge: Knowledge of federal and state leave laws, including FMLA, CFRA, Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), and ADA/Reasonable Accommodation processes. Documentation: Experience reviewing medical documentation and tracking leave-related deadlines. Record Keeping: Experience maintaining case records and documenting employee interactions. Systems: Familiarity with HRIS, Leave Management Systems, or case management platforms. Industry Experience: Experience working in a healthcare, higher education, or large employer environment.
