Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance of company operations, including project execution, financial results, and team leadership. This hands-on role provides direction and support to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and management of the company's day-to-day operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. Maintain accountability for operational profitability, including oversight of company and project-level P&L performance. Develop, review, and monitor project budgets, job costs, forecasts, and financial performance metrics to achieve profitability goals. Oversee the performance and development of Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and execution across all projects. Establish clear performance expectations and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Oversee project execution from planning through closeout, ensuring adherence to company standards, customer expectations, schedules, and budgets. Monitor workload, manpower, resource allocation, and operational efficiency across all projects and departments. Collaborate with accounting to oversee billing, collections, cash flow management, and financial reporting. Review project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure successful outcomes. Conduct regular meetings with project and field teams to review progress, priorities, challenges, and operational goals. Develop and implement operational processes, procedures, and best practices that improve efficiency, communication, and profitability. Conduct job site visits to evaluate project progress, quality, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders. Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the overall growth and success of the company. Perform other duties as necessary to support business operations and organizational objectives. Travel to project sites as needed (approximately 5-25%) to monitor project progress, support Superintendents, evaluate operational performance, and ensure quality, safety, and customer expectations are being met. Qualifications Required 5+ years of leadership experience in commercial roofing, construction, or a related industry. Proven experience managing operational budgets and P&L responsibility. Experience leading and developing multiple departments and teams. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 5-25% of the time to project sites for operational oversight, project reviews, and support of field personnel. Preferred Commercial roofing industry experience. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
