Role overview The Results & Refinement team at CarGurus is looking for a skilled Software Engineer Co-op to help drive exciting projects in the automotive space. We are reimagining the experience for users visiting CarGurus through our Search Results Page (SRP) – and aim to help customers find the perfect car for them. You will support a team building net new features and A/B tests to aid consumers in their automotive refinement journey. This is a full-time, paid, Summer 2026 Software Engineer Co-op position. Must be eligible to work 40 hours a week from July – December. We are a hybrid environment and employees should anticipate working from our Boston, MA office 60% of the time, or approximately 3 days per week. What you\'ll do Collaborate with the UX and Product teams to build accessible, user-friendly features Regularly ship changes to a website with millions of users Engage in the full development lifecycle designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, monitoring and improving software Actively participate during architectural design discussions and technology selection Make continuous improvements to site performance and UX What you\'ll bring Experience with React and TypeScript Understanding of modern Javascript design patterns Skilled communicator and ownership mindset Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative Passionate about performant, extensible code Understanding and interest in consumer experiences Experience with Agile processes The displayed range represents the expected hourly rate for this position. Where is the CarGurus office located and what are hybrid work expectations? CarGurus’ office is located at 1001 Boylston St. in Boston, MA. We offer a flexible hybrid model with expectations for Gurus to come into the office approximately 3 days per week. Interns can choose their in-office days based on personal preference and manager guidance in order to maximize their collaboration time with their team.
