Lead Software Engineer - Test Automation

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering, quality engineering, or software development/testing automation, plus 5+ years of relevant applied experience
• Practical, hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages and frameworks, such as Java, BDD suites (Cucumber/Gherkin), SQL, REST APIs, and Jira
• Strong automation and continuous delivery experience, including UI automation with Playwright or Selenium, API testing, and building stable, low-flake test suites
• Familiarity with enterprise testing ecosystems and the ability to standardize across frameworks such as FiTest+ and similar harnesses
• Experience building and operationalizing an agentic testing ecosystem with human-in-the-loop controls, guardrails, and integration to real tools such as frameworks, CI/CD, APIs, and data sources
• Experience with release readiness and governance, including entry/exit criteria, evidence-based sign-off, trusted test catalog management, and cross-environment release-grade outputs
• Strong partnership skills across Product, Engineering, Operations, and other business lines, with executive-ready reporting and risk articulation
• Demonstrated experience using approved AI-assisted software development tools and setting expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency/security expectations
• Experience building and operating MCP servers/clients to connect LLM agents to tools such as APIs, databases, and internal services

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions using creative approaches to solve complex technical problems
• Drive adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational results
• Apply software development life cycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase automation value
• Define and run journey quality strategy by translating product intent into risk-based acceptance criteria, measurable quality outcomes, and clear entry/exit standards for key IAM journeys
• Build and maintain living journey maps that connect personas, flows, and tests, and tune regression and performance scope based on change impact and production insights
• Implement partner-facing integration validation through contract tests, stubs, simulators, and automated integration and acceptance suites
• Identify opportunities to remove or automate recurring remediation work to strengthen operational stability
• Improve reliability of the testing ecosystem by reducing flakiness and speeding up diagnosis through deterministic patterns, stable fixtures, and clear quarantine and triage rules
• Own the defect-prevention cycle by leading reproduction, triage, fix validation, and prevention, then feeding failure patterns back into coverage and automation improvements
• Provide executive-ready journey health reporting that clearly explains risk, coverage, and release posture using evidence-based insights
• Lead communities of practice across software engineering and contribute to a culture of diversity, inclusion, opportunity, and respect
