Attorney - Medical Malpractice

Overview A law firm seeks an Attorney with a minimum of 4 years of litigation experience to join their Wilmington, NC office. The role involves handling healthcare litigation and medical malpractice defense, working with top-tier hospitals, clinics, and providers. Candidates should possess excellent advocacy skills and a commitment to client service, thriving in a team environment while managing an active caseload. Responsibilities Manage a diverse caseload independently. Conduct and defend depositions, including client and expert witness preparation. Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and conduct legal research for complex matters. Argue motions in state and federal court. Provide excellent client service through communication and counsel. Negotiate issues with opposing counsel, including settlement discussions. Prepare for and attend mediations and review settlement documents. Engage in trial preparation, including strategy and witness preparation. Requirements Active North Carolina law license, in good standing. 4+ years of litigation experience. Strong written and oral advocacy skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to client service and collaborative teamwork. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Licensed to practice law in North Carolina. Skills Knowledge of statutory interpretation, HIPAA laws, and healthcare industry. Proficiency in general technology skills, including GenAI, billing software, and Microsoft Suite.
