Position: Structural Engineer
Structural Design and Drafting:
- Develop structural design plans and drawings for commercial buildings and large home developments.
- Address complex structural elements such as foundation offsets, control joints, beam services, and geotechnical compliance.
- Perform analysis on ongoing projects and recommend changes to ensure structural safety and integrity.
- Utilize advanced structural analysis software (e.g., SAP 2000, ETABS, Math CAD, RISA 3D, STAAD) to design and analyze structures.
- Ensure all designs meet local building codes and address safety concerns, including flood risks, fire safety measures, and structural integrity against environmental factors.
- Conduct inspections of existing structures to assess safety and viability, making recommendations for repairs, renovations, or demolition when necessary.
- Oversee construction progress, ensuring quality control and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Provide guidance on site retaining walls, column grids, and elevations for various structural components.
- Develop plans for special structural details, such as beam bracing and outriggers, for complex building designs.
- Address the design and layout of critical structures such as elevator machine rooms and slab elevations.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a structural engineering role, with a focus on industrial and commercial structures.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP 2000, ETABS, Math CAD, RISA 3D, and STAAD.
- Solid understanding of structural design principles for steel and concrete structures.
- Ability to create detailed design drawings and conduct thorough structural analysis.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address complex structural challenges.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of health and safety guidelines related to structural engineering and construction.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- P.E. (Professional Engineer) license is preferred but not mandatory.
