SENIOR MANAGER, HOUSEKEEPING OPERATIONS

Manage and coordinate a major departmental operation to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of assigned athletics areas. We are especially seeking candidates with experience supporting largescale facilities, events, or operations within an athletics environment. This role regularly partners with Duke Athletics to maintain highvisibility, hightraffic spaces and ensure exceptional readiness for practices, competitions, and special events.

Education
Work requires communicative, cognitive and analytical skills normally acquired through a high school degree or equivalent. Experience
Work requires knowledge of housekeeping functions normally acquired through five years progressive experience in housekeeping operations. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Be Bold.

What You'll Do:

• Manage and coordinate housekeeping functions for assigned University buildings; analyze and plan complex housekeeping programs and schedules ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, supplies and equipment for subsequent performance of duties.
• Recommend solutions for operational problems in work schedules, non- routine service, personnel utilization and non-scheduled jobs.
• Recommend policies and procedures for University housekeeping operations; plan and conduct meetings with subordinates to ensure compliance with established practices, to implement new policies and to keep employees abreast of current standards and procedures; recommend guidelines to determine acceptable cleanliness levels for University buildings; monitor and participate in inspections. Analyze training needs and determine most effective course of action to address deficiencies.
• Provide support in coordination of staff and leadership trainings with Operations Manager of Logistics and Training and provide hands-on reinforcement of trainings and information.
• Prepare periodic reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
• Manage various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.
• Provide ongoing training for supervisors and assistant supervisors to conduct onsite quality audits and to effectively manage and motivate staff.
• Coordinate and conduct planned and scheduled building audits of all existing and new university spaces to ensure consistency of cleaning standards, service levels throughout environmental services.
• Ensure compliance of direct reports in all requirements including safety, quality assurance and KPIs. Hold direct reports accountable to department requirements and standards.
• Effectively communicate with peers and customers in timely manner. Prepare for, attend and engage in meetings with customers. Support Director in work loading process, new facility startups or other special projects.

Anticipated Pay Range:

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $62,694.00 to USD $107,633.00.
