About this role The Building Automation Field Supervisor – Data Centers is a team leader of a selected number of Field Engineers (FE) based on Data Centers in the Waukesha, WI region. Their primary responsibility is managing and training of their direct employees, and verification of their work through the duration of Data Center projects. They will be responsible for mentoring new hires and current FEs with new construction field operations, and work with the Project Management group to coordinate timely completion of all assigned projects. They ensure the field staff has the proper knowledge to perform the work and execute within project‑specific budgets. They are primarily responsible for coordinating all resources, internal and external, necessary for the execution of the new construction project their FEs are assigned to in Cora PPM. Key Responsibilities Provide necessary documentation and communication to all customer levels, subcontractors, and ALC Department Management. Ensure proper time utilization from timesheet collection, site visits, and daily logs in Cora PPM. Follow up on all daily log collection for the Field Engineers and ensure timely delivery to New Construction Administration and Project Managers. Utilize Cora PPM to generate reports, spreadsheets, and schedules when necessary. Represent Automated Logic in meetings, defend the company’s best interest, and be prepared with answers to anticipated questions. Lead, document, and participate in yearly and semi‑yearly performance reviews for all employees. Communicate with Engineering, Graphics developers, and programmers to provide feedback on quality, accuracy, and standards development. Understand project budgets for negotiated projects and monitor work performed by FEs to ensure quality control. Provide continuous feedback to direct reports regarding performance, budgets, and quality. Escalate any personnel concerns and proactively manage employee expectations. Attend and actively participate in turnover meetings, pre‑bid meetings, and other important meetings. Collaborate with the Project Manager to maximize project execution by coordinating task assignments in Cora PPM. Participate in monthly meetings with Project Managers and Branch Operations Managers to assign resources for all projects. Provide input to the Project Manager on resource needs for graphics, programming, and technical checkout. Coordinate project schedule with electrical subcontractors and other trades to maintain schedule. Maintain continuous communications with FEs, Project Managers, Customers, and trades to ensure consistent understanding of the project schedule. Provide technical assistance on all necessary ALC programming and graphical work for assigned projects. Utilize other FEs when workload dictates to meet project schedule. Develop and improve company standards. Develop mentoring plans and continuously train new and current FEs. Participate in peer reviews, turnover meetings, post‑mortem meetings, and close‑out meetings as required. Assist in development of training and mentoring plans. Conduct interviews with potential candidates. Attend seminars, enroll in self‑study courses, and undertake other self‑improvement measures to maintain proficiency and improve job performance. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 3+ years of experience in the HVAC controls industry. Valid and current Driver’s License, insurable by the company’s insurance carrier. Ability to travel in excess of 25% of the typical workweek, including air travel, overnight hotel stays, and unexpected travel, and participate in a rotating on‑call schedule. Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment in excess of 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, or a related subject matter. Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines. Field experience and understanding of the installation and operation of Automated Logic Controls and ability to understand/navigate third‑party control systems and integrations. Experience with Automated Logic and Phoenix software, including WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, LogicBuilder, InterOp 3.02, Alert, Draw, EDB, Eikon, Supervision, and Accel Works. Previous leadership experience and ability to lead and motivate diverse teams. Strong verbal and written communication. Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications. Pay Range The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 and $129,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
