Grade 5 (Salaried)**Position Description:**The Center for Predictive Medicine seeks a Research Technician II to support a research laboratory that discovers and develops antiviral drugs. The Research Technician II will coordinate recombinant production of protein reference standards and the monoclonal antibodies used to identify them. This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funds.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities*** Participate in the design and execution of research experiments.* Independently perform data acquisition and collect, collate, and analyze research experimental data.* Prepare data for publication and draft research papers and technical reports.* Perform critical analyses of literature relevant to research undertaken. Assist in the preparation of technical reports, research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at conferences and workshops.* Assist in the review and revision of laboratory policies and procedures.* Participate in the planning and development of goals for the research project and laboratory. Assist in the establishment of test controls, criteria, and research standards.* Other related duties as assigned.**Preferred Qualifications*** Three or more years of experience with immunological and histopathological analyses.* Two or more years of experience working with recombinant protein production.**Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.****Equal Employment Opportunity**The University of Louisville is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
