Job Title: Engine Mechanic Job Description

This role focuses on diagnosing, servicing, and repairing engines and related mechanical and electrical systems on both customer-owned equipment and rental fleet equipment. The position also supports customers by receiving returned rental equipment and providing clear, professional guidance on service and parts needs.

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on customer equipment and rental fleet equipment using appropriate tools and methods.
• Perform engine repair, maintenance, and servicing to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Inspect returned rental equipment to identify damage, wear, or needed repairs and document findings accurately.
• Service and repair engines and related components, including troubleshooting engine performance problems.
• Provide customer service concerning service and parts needs, both by phone and face to face.
• Explain repair findings, recommended services, and parts requirements to customers in clear, understandable terms.
• Prepare equipment for return to service, ensuring all repairs and maintenance meet quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely completion of service work and efficient handling of rental returns.

• Proven experience in engine repair and maintenance.
• Strong mechanical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills related to engines and equipment.
• Ability to diagnose service needs accurately and efficiently.
• Customer service skills for handling service and parts inquiries by phone and in person.
• Clear verbal communication skills to explain technical issues to customers.
• Attention to detail when inspecting, servicing, and repairing equipment.

• Experience working with rental equipment or similar service environments.
• Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical components on a variety of equipment.
• Ability to manage multiple service tasks and prioritize work based on urgency and customer needs.

You will work in a hands-on, technical environment where your mechanical and diagnostic skills directly contribute to safe, reliable equipment for customers. The role offers the opportunity to develop both your technical abilities and your customer service skills while working with a supportive team that values quality, reliability, and clear communication.

This position operates in a workshop and equipment yard environment, working directly with customer equipment and a rental fleet. You will use standard mechanical and electrical tools and equipment to diagnose and repair engines and related systems. The role may involve standing for extended periods, working with tools and machinery, and handling equipment inspections. Work hours typically follow a standard schedule, with in-person interaction with customers at the service counter or in the shop.

This is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, KS.

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $50000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
