Electronic Technician

Electronic TechnicianThe Electronic Technician is responsible for performing work related to the installation, alteration, maintenance and service of all electrical systems and equipment.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Troubleshoot and repair ac/dc motors and associated control schemesMust be proficient in all aspects of a programmable logic controller (PLC)Diagnose and repair/replace multiple types of sensing devices such as photo-eyes, limit switches, proximity sensors, I/Ps etc.Diagnose electronic problems and replace down to board level circuitryWork with high/low voltage systems and components such as 24vdc, 110vac, 208vac and 480vac.Bend and run conduit and wire terminations.Assess new equipment electrical needs for installation, plan/advice regarding the scope of work needed.Assess and improve existing equipment performance and efficiencies as needed and where instructed.Read and write electrical schematics and ladder diagrams.Use all standard measuring devices.Good technical and critical thinking skills.General knowledge of OSHA regulations.Identify issues that he/she is not able to rectify and communicate them promptly to the Maintenance Manager for assistance.Follow all safety, food safety, & GMP rules and regulations.All other duties as assigned.Education and/or experience: HS Diploma or equivalent plus two years of trade school or 4 years electrical and electronics work experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to attend all job related training classes to increase job knowledge and improve job performance. This also encourages confidence and sense of accomplishment.Language skills: Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and customer specifications. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts using calculator.Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer skills: Data entry helpful.Travel requirements: As required to attend off site training.Physical demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
