Summary :

Support the Company’s statistical and regulatory reporting function, with primary responsibility for preparing accurate and timely state regulatory data calls and assisting with policy-level statistical reporting, reinsurance reporting, data quality monitoring, internal controls, and related external reporting. Work closely with the Statistical & Regulatory Reporting Manager, Corporate Finance, field operations, Information Systems, and other stakeholders to compile, validate, reconcile, document, and submit required information. Contribute to process improvement and automation efforts using available reporting and analytical tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

This role has four primary areas of responsibility:

• Prepare recurring and ad hoc statistical reports using policy-level data and other Company information.
• Perform data validation, reconciliations, and quality control reviews to support the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of policy and statistical reporting.
• Assist with monitoring unmatched policies, large commercial policies, and other policy-reporting exceptions. Research variances and escalate significant issues to the Manager.
• Coordinate with field operations and Information Systems to obtain data, resolve reporting issues, and promote consistent policy-entry and reporting practices.
• Assist in maintaining reporting instructions, data definitions, procedures, workpapers, and supporting documentation.
• Support preparation of training materials and communications for field offices regarding policy reporting standards and process changes.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of reports and key performance indicators related to policy production, unmatched policies, statistical data, and other policy metrics.

• Support State Regulatory Reporting Effort for ORT
  • Prepare and file annual state regulatory data calls and other recurring regulatory submissions under the direction of the Manager.
  • Prepare responses to ad hoc data requests from state insurance departments and other regulatory bodies.
  • Research filing instructions and changes in state, NAIC, and other applicable reporting requirements and summarize potential impacts for review by the Manager.
  • Maintain filing calendars, status tracking, supporting documentation, and evidence of review and submission.

  • Support Reinsurance Reporting
    • Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual reinsurance reporting packages provided to the Company’s third-party reinsurance broker and other stakeholders.
    • Reconcile reinsurance data to applicable source systems and financial records and investigate and document differences.
    • Prepare supporting schedules, workpapers, and responses to follow-up questions related to reinsurance reporting.

    • Support External Reporting and Process Improvement Efforts
      • Perform assigned internal controls over statistical, regulatory, and reinsurance reporting and retain appropriate documentation.
      • Identify data-quality, control, or process issues and communicate them promptly to the Manager.
      • Assist with testing and implementation of system enhancements, regulatory changes, and process improvements that reduce manual effort and improve reporting reliability.
      • Use Microsoft Excel and available reporting tools, which may include Workday, OfficeConnect, Adaptive Planning, and Power BI, to compile, analyze, reconcile, and present information.
      • Assist in developing and maintaining automated dashboards that provide visibility into policy production, unmatched policies, key performance indicators, and reinsurance metrics.
      • Assist with recurring and ad hoc reporting to the parent company, regulators, rating agencies, auditors, and other internal or external stakeholders.
      • Support industry, competitor, and rating-agency analyses by compiling and validating requested information.
      • Provide limited assistance with GAAP and statutory financial reporting when statistical, policy, reinsurance, or regulatory data is required.

    • Complies with Company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and completes mandatory Company compliance training by prescribed deadlines.
    • At a minimum, the ability to work scheduled office hours, Monday through Friday. Extended working hours may be necessary in connection with required filing and reporting deadlines.
    • Dependable, reliable, and punctual attendance is required, which may include attendance at after-hour Company events.
    • Ability to accept supervision as well as constructive feedback.

    • undefined Knowledge and Skills Required : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field required. A minimum of two years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, insurance operations, data analysis, or a related discipline preferred. Working knowledge of general accounting principles. Exposure to GAAP, statutory accounting, insurance regulatory reporting, or policy-level reporting is preferred. Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude, with the ability to reconcile large or complex data sets, identify exceptions, and document conclusions. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel. Experience with Workday Financials, OfficeConnect, Adaptive Planning, Power BI, CoPilot, databases, or other reporting tools is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while successfully performing under tight time constraints and meeting prescribed deadlines. Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects. Ability to prepare and maintain organized workpapers and supporting documentation and to maintain current knowledge of applicable accounting and regulatory requirements. Communication and Interpersonal Skills : Excellent professional written, verbal, listening, and communication skills. Must be a personable, positive, and professional representative of the Company. Ability to foster, develop, and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships. Repetitive and continual keyboard activity and interaction with display monitors is required. Overnight business travel by air and/or automobile may be required. Sedentary work: The majority of activity in this position involves sedentary work, including sitting, standing, walking, and the occasional need to lift or move objects.
