About the Position

The Program Director of College & Career Advisement will lead a dynamic, high-impact program designed to help young people achieve academic success, launch meaningful careers, and build pathways toward financial independence.

Working within QCH's Young Adult Services Division, the Program Director will inspire, coach, and develop a dedicated team while creating a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth. The Director will cultivate strong partnerships with colleges, employers, workforce providers, and community organizations; drive participant recruitment, engagement, and retention; and use data, outcomes, and participant feedback to strengthen program effectiveness.

The Program Director will connect day-to-day operations to broader agency priorities while anticipating challenges and identifying opportunities for growth and innovation. This position will take ownership of key initiatives, including advancing and strengthening the Pathways model, and ensuring program goals translate into measurable participant outcomes.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, sound judgment, initiative, and a commitment to staff development, program quality, continuous improvement, and impactful service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Leadership & Supervision

• Recruit, onboard, supervise, and support program staff by providing clear leadership, structure, and direction.
• Establish performance expectations, workflows, and accountability measures.
• Provide regular weekly supervision and case review.
• Support staff professional development through coaching, training, and reflective supervision.
• Foster a collaborative team environment focused on learning, accountability, and participant success.

Program Management & Operations

• Provide overall program oversight, including program planning, implementation, contract deliverables, reporting, and program development.
• Lead and manage the Pathways Model Change Track process.
• Monitor program operations to ensure compliance with contractual and organizational requirements.
• Support program budgeting, track expenditures, and assist with funder visits and monitoring activities.
• Identify opportunities for program growth, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Data Management & Reporting

• Work closely with the Division Director of Youth Workforce to monitor program participation, outcomes, and performance.
• Facilitate bi-monthly data meetings with the program team.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of program data.
• Oversee reporting systems and ensure compliance with funder and contractual reporting requirements.
• Analyze program data to evaluate effectiveness, participant success, retention, and contract performance.
• Use data and participant feedback to inform program planning and decision-making.

Strategic Partnerships & Community Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with partner colleges and educational organizations, including College Now, CUNY Network for College Success, and CACNY.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, workforce development providers, schools, colleges, and community-based organizations.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen referral networks and expand resources available to participants.
• Represent QCH and the Pathways program at community, educational, workforce, and partner events.
• Cultivate relationships that support participant access to education, employment, training, and career opportunities.

Participant Recruitment, Retention & Success

• Develop and implement strategies to recruit participants into Pathways, including graduates and alumni of LTW and current participants of QCH drop-in centers.
• Manage and monitor the internal referral process to strengthen participant engagement and retention.
• Develop and implement college and career retention strategies that support participant persistence and achievement.
• Monitor participant engagement and identify barriers to continued participation.
• Collaborate with staff and partners to connect participants with appropriate educational, career, and supportive resources.
• Promote participant success through individualized support, engagement strategies, and meaningful career and educational opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, Social Work, Human Resources, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of applicable education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with youth in college access, college persistence, workforce development, career services, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
• Experience with program management, data tracking, reporting, and performance measurement.
• Strong relationship-building and partnership development skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and across multiple organizational partners.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher.
