Step into a dynamic full-time contract opportunity as an ESL and Special Education Teacher supporting students near Evanston, IL. This role calls for an educator enthusiastic about fostering growth and inclusion in a collaborative school environment. You will balance the unique responsibilities of Special Education with the language development needs of English Learners—helping every student reach their full academic potential.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- ESL endorsement or relevant teaching experience with English Learners
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or related field
- Familiarity with IEPs and implementing individualized support strategies
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Creative problem-solver who adapts instruction to meet diverse learner needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students with special needs and English Learners
- Administer and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assess student progress and adapt learning activities accordingly
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Create a welcoming, respectful classroom where diversity and inclusion are celebrated
- Provide targeted interventions and language development activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP and team meetings
