R&D Test Engineer

Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for an R&D Test Engineer for a leading biotechnology company in the RTP area. This is a 12-month contract opportunity working 100% onsite. The R&D Test Engineer will support research and development through hands-on testing, troubleshooting, test fixture development, prototyping, and data analysis. Biomedical engineering or related medical device/biotech experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Perform manual and automated testing and accurately document test results
• Assist with the development of test methods, protocols, and reports
• Troubleshoot test systems and equipment
• Design, manufacture, and assemble test systems and fixtures
• Analyze and summarize test data and communicate findings
• Support design and prototyping activities
• Work with engineering and scientific teams to improve testing methods and processes
• Maintain testing equipment, supplies, and general laboratory organization
• Follow appropriate safety procedures when working around human tissue, cells, or related materials

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
• Hands-on testing, troubleshooting, prototyping, or engineering laboratory experience
• Experience with 3D CAD and ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
• Electrical aptitude, including ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills
• Biomedical Engineering degree or medical device, biotechnology, or life sciences experience preferred
• Experience with test fixtures, verification/validation, MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, Arduino, or similar tools is a plus
• Must be comfortable working 100% onsite in RTP
