Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of maintenance repairs, construction, and preventive maintenance activities on complex industrial equipment and facility systems. This role supports a diversified line of machine tools, material handling equipment, forklifts, heating, forming, and forging equipment, while also maintaining buildings, grounds, and related systems. The technician operates and services plant steam generators, air compressors, and water treatment systems to ensure reliable and safe production operations.ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance repairs, maintenance construction, and preventive maintenance on machine tools, material handling equipment, forklifts, heating, forming, and forging equipment.Maintain buildings, grounds, and all related facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.Operate and service plant steam generators, air compressors, and water treatment systems.Troubleshoot and repair CNC equipment, including both mechanical and electrical components.Perform electrical repairs and new electrical construction, including wiring and installation of components.Connect various types of electrical wire to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components using appropriate connectors.Use testing equipment such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to verify proper circuit connections, electrical compatibility, and safety of components.Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics to diagnose equipment issues and plan repairs.Plan and lay out work independently, based on general assignments from a supervisor, and proceed with minimal supervision.Direct the work of others when required to complete maintenance and construction tasks.Diagnose operating failures in industrial manufacturing equipment and implement effective remedial repairs.Inspect parts, rebuild, and overhaul complete machines and machine components to restore proper function.Perform structural steel fabrication, welding, pipefitting, plumbing, masonry, concrete work, and rough carpentry as needed to support operations.Carry out preventive maintenance functions, including periodic inspection of equipment, lubrication according to established schedules, and preparation of written status reports.Complete additional duties as assigned to support plant maintenance and reliability.Essential SkillsProven experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial manufacturing environment.Strong mechanical maintenance skills for CNC equipment and other industrial machinery.Solid electrical maintenance skills for CNC equipment and facility systems.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.Demonstrated troubleshooting ability to diagnose and resolve equipment failures.Hands-on experience operating and maintaining steam generators, air compressors, and water treatment systems.Competence in using electrical testing equipment such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.Ability to plan and lay out work independently and proceed with minimal supervision.Capability to direct the work of others when necessary.Academic training and sufficient trade experience to diagnose operating failures and perform complex remedial repairs.Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) in an industrial setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment across a variety of systems.Experience in structural steel fabrication, welding, pipefitting, plumbing, masonry, and concrete work.Ability to perform rough carpentry and general facility maintenance tasks.Experience performing preventive maintenance, including scheduled inspections, lubrication, and documentation of equipment status.Comfort working from general assignments and adapting to changing priorities.Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment safety and reliability.Effective communication skills to document work and collaborate with supervisors and coworkers.Ability to interpret assembly drawings and follow established maintenance procedures.Why Work Here?You join a stable industrial operation where your technical skills are valued and you have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment and systems. The environment is hands-on and equipment-focused, with typical industrial noise levels and the need for appropriate personal protective equipment and practical work attire suitable for maintenance, fabrication, and repair tasks.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
