Position Summary: Staffing Coordinator (Temp):

he StaffingCoordinatoris responsible forkeeping all the hospital units fully staffed,in order forpersonnel to properly care for the patients within the facility.The Staffing Coordinator creates and manages UKG(master scheduling software system), adjusting appropriatelythe staffing levelsbased on census fluctuations, call-insand pre-planned leaves of absences toensure adequate coveragefor all shifts.This position is akeycontributor and amember of the Nursing ManagementTeam, andreports directly to theChief NursingOfficer.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide daily staffing of RN's, LVN's and MHT's

• Responsible formaintainingbusiness rules, administeringshiftsand approving shift assignments inShiftHound- the nurse scheduling software program.

• Process PTO requests and ensure coverage for employees taking PTO.

• Fill staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.

• Communicate with CEO, CFO, CNO and all Nurse Supervisorsregardingfloor orientation scheduling for newly hired employees in the nursing department.
• Activelyparticipatesand directs the training and onboarding of new employees as it relates to the scheduling process.

Works closely with HR on a variety of issues, which include assisting in the orientation of new employees, briefing employees on the requirements of work shifts and hours, as well as training new employees on systems or programs used to report work hours.

• Utilizes UKG computer software system to update andmaintainthe master schedule.

• Processescall ins/absences and ensure coverage.

• Produce daily staffing sheets and store past daily sheets.

• Prepare daily staffing FTE report for CEO, CFO,and CNO.

• Review time sheets daily and make corrections as needed forPayroll.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Staffing Coordinator Requirements:

Education: High School diploma of GEDrequired. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Businessor related field preferred.

Experience: Preferably a minimum of two (2) years' experience in hospital with staffing/schedulingresponsibilities for all shifts for clinical and nursing personnel; will consider business office and/or human resources experience, preferably in a health care setting; or any combination of education, training or experience in a hospital business office.
