We are proud to offer a market-leading range of premium products across categories, styles and price points, remaining committed to beautiful design and, above all, a world-class customer experience.This role partners closely with Quality, Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, Purchasing, New Product Development (NPD), and suppliers to drive quality performance across new and existing products.The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring suppliers meet company quality standards through effective quality systems, corrective actions, process controls, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role supports supplier qualification, audits, PPAP, and NPI activities, while working with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issues, reduce defects, and improve overall product performance. The SQE also supports product measurement and inspection processes to ensure compliance with quality requirements.Visual Comfort Offers:Work-Life Balance: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm; There is a 10% international travel requirement for this role.Training & Development: A comprehensive and structured training program, complemented by ongoing education and opportunities for career advancement.Paid Time Off: Generous vacation accrual and paid time off policies.Holidays: 7 paid holidays per year, in addition to 2 floating holidays.Compensation: Competitive compensation planHealth Benefits: Visual Comfort pays the majority of employees medical, vision, and dental coverage, available starting the first of the month following your start date.Insurance: Company-provided life insurance and short-term disability coverage.Retirement: 401(k) plan with company matching up to 4%, available beginning the first of the month following your hire date.How Success Is Defined:Utilize a production part approval/acceptance process and develop criteria and documentation to include supplier inspection procedures and VCC incoming quality validation procedures.Maintain appropriate quality performance metrics (quality and process compliance reports) and drive resolution of issues, including CAPA.Implement and manage a rejected product process at the supplier facilities.Work directly with the suppliers to significantly improve overall part quality. Drive improvements to the supplier's quality system, manage the root cause analysis and corrective action process of suppliers. Drive process control.Initiate projects to reduce incoming inspections and enable dock to stock of incoming material.Support new product launches to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to the required quality standards. Work with the quality engineer to communicate requirements from NPD such as FAI, capability studies and PPAP. Create programs on measurement system to aid with inspection of NPD and production parts.Perform new supplier audits.Help analyze defective product to be able to communicate clearly to suppliers the failure mode and/or root cause.Works effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.Exhibits and adheres to the established Visual Comfort Company Values.Must demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule. While being present in the workplace to effectively collaborate and communicate amongst co-workers and teams.What You Will Bring:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field required.2+ years of experience in a quality role, preferably in supplier quality within a manufacturing environment.Experience with supplier corrective actions (CARs), root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.Knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, SPC, and Six Sigma/DMAIC.Experience supporting supplier audits, PPAP, and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities preferred.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs).Proficiency with measurement and inspection equipment; Keyence XM experience preferred.Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.Compensation Range: $66,000 - $70,000Compensation is based on individual factors, including skill set, relevant experience, and work locationQualified applicants are considered for employment, and employees are treated during employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, gender identity, or expression, genetic information, or any other legally protected status.To be eligible for this role, you must be authorized to work in the United States.
