Direct Support Professional (DSP) Community & Residential Support

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you play a hands-on role in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges. You will work directly with individuals in their homes and communities, helping them build daily living skills, maintain meaningful routines, and live as independently and safely as possible.

This is a relationship-centered role where your work has real impactsupporting people in moments that matter, from everyday tasks to important life skills that promote dignity, confidence, and choice.

What You'll Do

• Supporting individuals with personal care needs such as hygiene, grooming, and daily routines
• Assisting with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and maintaining a safe living environment
• Helping individuals build and practice independent living skills (shopping, transportation, budgeting, etc.)
• Providing companionship and encouragement while promoting social and community engagement
• Observing, documenting, and reporting changes in behavior, health, or progress
• Following individual service plans and support goals developed by the care team
• Supporting individuals in the community, including outings, appointments, and activities
• Communicating respectfully with families, supervisors, and support teams
• Following behavioral support plans, safety guidelines, and agency policies

Schedule & Pay

• Schedules vary from part-time (28 hours/week) to full-time (40 hours/week)
• Pay range: $20$26 per hour, DOE (Depending on Experience)
• Schedule varies and may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Location

• Residential homes located in East County, including areas such as Santee and El Cajon

What We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass background checks and meet state requirements
• Comfortable assisting with personal care and daily living activities
• Ability to work independently and follow care plans

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or mental health needs
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to individual needs
• Experience in residential or community-based support settings
