Business Development Intern

Sales Intern

The Muskegon Lumberjacks, a proud member of the United States Hockey League (USHL), are seeking motivated, outgoing, and driven Sales Interns for the upcoming 2025–2026 season. This internship provides hands-on experience in the business side of professional sports, with a focus on ticket sales, group sales, corporate partnerships, and customer relationship management. It's an excellent opportunity for students looking to build a career in sports sales and business development.

Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Sales and Business Development Executive with ticket sales initiatives, including season tickets, group outings, and premium seating.
Generate new sales leads through research, outbound calls, emails, and community outreach.
Help maintain and update customer information.
Assist with prospecting and client follow-up before, during, and after the sales process.
Support corporate partnership sales efforts, including proposal preparation and sponsorship fulfillment
Represent the Lumberjacks at community events, networking opportunities, and promotional appearances.
Assist with game day sales operations, fan engagement, and client hospitality.
Provide exceptional customer service while helping create memorable fan experiences.

Qualifications

Must be pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable making phone calls and interacting with prospective clients
Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Available to work nights, weekends, and home games throughout the season
Passion for sports and a willingness to learn the sales process
