Key Qualifications:

• Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
• Prior experience or strong familiarity with school-based PT practices
• Knowledge of pediatric, adolescent, and young adult development
• Ability to design and implement individualized treatment plans to meet students’ unique needs
• Excellent communication skills for consultations with educators, families, and colleagues
• Adaptability and creativity in therapy techniques, accommodating diverse populations and varying schedules
• Current understanding of healthcare documentation and compliance standards for educational settings

Role Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students to determine their functional levels in the school environment and develop targeted goals
• Deliver direct and consultative PT services in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate closely with teachers, occupational therapists, speech specialists, parents, and administrators to foster student progress
• Document assessments, interventions, and progress in accordance with district and legal requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to team discussions
• Provide training and resources to school staff, promoting a supportive environment for students requiring physical therapy
