Director of Housekeeping

Summary of Director of Housekeeping Supervise the Housekeeping and Laundry staff to ensure they are completing their daily assigned job duties. Essential Functions of Director of Housekeeping Perform cleaning and sanitizing tasks per department scheduled policies and services throughout the facility. Use cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies, and stock cart at end of shift. Clean and disinfect bathrooms, resident rooms, employee breakroom, offices, hallways and entrances per department standards. Remove linens, towels, bedspreads and blankets to launder. Pick up and empty trash containers in resident rooms, common spaces, and office areas. Perform isolation cleaning procedures in accordance with established infection control procedures. Assist with laundry tasks as needed to meet resident and facility needs. Clean floors (sweeping, vacuuming, wet/dry mopping). Remove dust, dirt, grease, film, etc. from surfaces, using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions. Keep walls, windows, ceilings, mirrors, etc. clean by washing, wiping, disinfecting, deodorizing, and following the deep cleaning procedures. Monitor and report necessary repairs; order supplies. Attend all mandatory in-services, educational trainings and department meetings. Competencies of Director of Housekeeping Attention to detail. Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of residents and/or guests. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously. Reliable transportation. Work Environment This job operates in a healthcare setting. This worker is exposed to adverse environmental factors and involves high risk exposure to blood, tissue and body fluids and chemicals. Physical Demands for Director of Housekeeping To adequately perform the essential functions of the job you must have the physical capabilities to stand, sit, walk for extended lengths of time, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted with frequent and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, pull and do repetitive motions on a daily basis. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Days and hours vary and will include evenings, weekends and holidays. Education and Experience for Environmental Service Director High school diploma or equivalent. Professional cleaning experience preferred.
