Emergency Medical Technician

Job Duties

Assist on Trauma/Resuscitation teams as either a recorder or right/left side medic.

Manage airway obstructions and respiratory arrest using maneuvers and adjuncts such as nasopharyngeal airways, oropharyngeal airways, suction, or bag valve masks.

Treat soft tissue wounds, applies bandages, performs wound irrigation, and assist with skin closures.

Obtain blood, blood cultures, urine, and other specimens via phlebotomy, peripheral IV insertion, and urinary catheterization.

Perform necessary tests including vital signs, EKG's, spirometry, blood glucose and vision tests.

Provide routine medical care and perform delegated clinical procedures under supervision of licensed providers.

Screen adult and pediatric patients to obtain and review medical histories and update medical records.

Recognize, stabilize, and treat a wide variety of medical emergencies.
