The Machinist I position operates a variety of machine tools and equipment at an advanced level to accurately machine final product as well as assist in the development of new products and processes.EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredTwo-year tech school degree or equivalent experience preferredQualifications / ExperienceMinimum four years job related experience in a manufacturing environment preferredAbility to perform at an advanced level for most machine tools in value streamMust possess ability to deal with multiple tasks in a fast paced environmentGeneral Tasks and ResponsibilitiesEffectively use precision measuring devices to effectively machine partsUse blueprints, gauges, torque measuring devices and/or other equipment to ensure conformance to quality specificationsAbility to set-up, adjust and perform operations with close tolerance and finish requirements on standardized partsConduct pre and post inspection on all machined partsPlan and make new setups with necessary equipmentAssist in the development of work instructionsPerform preventive maintenance as required in workstation crane inspection, cleaning machines, sweeping floor – 5SAssist in identifying issues and initiating corrective action processes as necessaryAny duties or tasks that may be assigned to promote cross training or support for various areas of the shopOther duties as assignedPeople Related Tasks and ResponsibilitiesPromote a culture based on our Values in ActionFollow established facility safety policies, safe job procedures and hazardous risk assessments and using the proper Personal Protective equipment for the specific job being performedWork with variety of employees throughout the day to effectively communicate needs and to perform job related tasksProven ability to work in a team settingEnsure customer requirements are metConduct business with the highest level of honesty and integrityAbility to Interface with plant management, supervisors and production personnelCompensation & Benefits Offered!Hourly Pay Range: $24.33 - $30.97 (salary negotiations to be offered based on skills/experience)2nd shift Work Hours: 4:15PM - 2:45AM2nd shift will receive an additional 7% night shift premium.Monday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Fridays40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime80 hours of vacation with an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO)10 Paid holidays100% 401k match up to 6% offered on day 1 of employmentHealth, dental, vision, & life insurance offered on day 1 of employmentPotential annual performance increaseClean/safe work environmentPaid holiday shut down at the end of the year (dependent upon business needs)All eligible candidates MUST pass the following pre-employment screenings before they can be hired to any Caterpillar position:Background ScreeningDrug & Alcohol ScreeningPost-Offer Medical Questionnaire - clearance from Corporate MedicalPlease ensure you frequently sign in to your candidate home for any updates or correspondence for positions that you have applied for.
