RN - ICU

Coordinates the delivery of nursing care for critically ill, post-operative, ventilator, post cardiac arrest, post heart cath, hemodynamic stabilization and other critically ill patients in the units.
RN ICU Nights LOCATION: BAYLOR SCOTT & WHITE MEDICAL CENTER, MARBLE FALLS TX DEPT: CRITICAL CARE SCHEDULE: FULL TIME NIGHTS Procedures: Bronchoscopy, Cardioversion, Intubation, Arterial line insertion continuous bladder irrigation chest tube placement, central line placement, thoracentesis and wound care. We will care for septic shock, cardiogenic shock, post-cath, post -IR, DKA, stroke, alcohol withdrawal, general surgery and urology. We do not have cardiothoracic surgery or neurosurgery. We have an 8 bed unit and patient to nurse ration is: RN's 2:1 for ICU pts and 3:1 for IMC pts and we have patient care technicians. We are a small community hospital, but we can provide a lot of care and medical intervention. With a combination of diverse specialists paired with our intensivist and hospitalist teams, we have a variety of experience and capabilities that usually are not afforded to small communities. Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Essential Functions of the Role As an RN, conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understand hospital procedures and rules. Qualifications Grad of an Accredited Program Specialized field of study should be nursing. RN license. Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
