Youth Development Specialist - Supportive Housing

Empower Children and Families Through Education, Recreation, and Community Engagement

$53,913 Annually
($25.92/Hour)

THE ROLE

Win is seeking a dedicated and energetic Youth Development Specialist to support children, youth, and families residing in our Stone House Supportive Housing program. In this role, you will plan, develop, and coordinate educational and recreational programming that fosters child development, family engagement, and community connection. Working closely with families, community partners, schools, and internal stakeholders, you will create meaningful opportunities that enrich the lives of children and help strengthen family stability and self-sufficiency.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Plan, develop, and coordinate educational, recreational, and enrichment activities for children and families residing at Stone House
• Create and maintain activity schedules and ensure program information is communicated and distributed to families
• Develop and facilitate after-school programming that promotes academic achievement, social development, and positive youth engagement
• Utilize Evidence-Based Practices (EBP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), family-centered approaches, and appropriate boundary setting to support client success
• Collaborate with the Department of Education, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and other community resources to connect families with free and low-cost educational and recreational opportunities
• Partner with other Win departments to organize special events, holiday celebrations, and culturally responsive programming that reflects the diverse backgrounds of participating families
• Develop service plans with clients, establish goals, and monitor progress toward achieving identified outcomes
• Participate in case conferences, interdisciplinary meetings, and staff meetings as required

WHO YOU WILL BE

• You will hold a bachelor’s degree in human services, Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field and have at least two years of experience working with children, youth, and families

• You will have experience supporting at-risk populations using client-centered, strength-based approaches

• You will demonstrate knowledge of Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, and family engagement practices

• You will possess strong organizational, planning, and program coordination skills

• You will have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• You will be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
